Design Collective Specializing in One-Off Luxury Goods Takes off with Premium Timepiece Collection

This Spring, premium design collective Bellum Classics launches a new line of one-off luxury goods with its first collection of exclusive watches. Recycling obscure vintage timepieces from military watches to Rolex’s and Patek’s and putting their own spin on them, Bellum Classics is looking to change the way young men and women wear their watches. Redesigning the bands, faces, and the backs of each piece with intricate hand-done designs, these exquisite watches celebrate individuality with an undying classic touch.

“We wanted to create a series of collections for those who appreciate timeless design and cater to those who honor individual style,” said Ryan Bonilla and Phillip Feng, founders of Bellum Classics. “Bellum Classics is about creating truly unique luxury goods that are forever classic, and we are more than excited about our first collection of watches. In the future, we plan to follow up with various items in the luxury goods market.”

For the creative think tank’s first collection, a series of hand picked vintage timepieces were selected each for its own uniqueness and were then overhauled and customized to the Bellum aesthetic. Ranging from obscure obsolete vintage watch brands to high end timepieces from the 1940s through 1980s, Bellum Classics holds high standards for each piece – they must exude a classic style while still embracing a hint of edge/ Timeless and captivating, the premier collection from Bellum Classics includes twenty styles in its first season, however the company also specializes in pieces that are made to order.

Bellum Classics was founded in 2006 by designers Ryan Bonilla and Phillip Feng. They developed the name Bellum and derived it from the Latin word for “war.” Creating a high end, designer collection is a fight in itself. It takes courage and it’s a struggle. From the original thought to when the final pieces are put in place, there is so much change that has developed over; the launch becomes something of a rebirth of the company. It’s from these emotions and imagery that war invokes – struggle, fight, rebirth, change, courage – that the founders of Bellum Classics draws their creativity from.

“This war we battle is the war for creative freedom,” said Ryan and Phillip. “The lack of originality and individualism in the market place today gave birth to Bellum.”

A collective of artisans and free thinkers, Bellum specializes in catering to designing, manufacturing, and customizing one off luxury goods.
