Save the Children President Charles MacCormack, sporting a Kashmir Paisley tie from the Middle East region collection, said, "There are about 64 million fathers in the United States. If even one-tenth of 1 percent of them receives a World Collection tie for Father's Day, Save the Children will be able to fund health care, education and community development for thousands of children and their families. Now that's a fashion statement." Currently, there are 22 tie designs in the World Collection, each blending contemporary style with indigenous patterns and materials from six regions around the world, representative of areas where Save the Children works. The design of the Africa Congo tie, for instance, is based on Kuba raffia cloth woven from the fiber of the raphia palm, while the colorful Latin America Huipil tie picks up the colors and patterns of ancient Mayan culture. Randa Accessories is a longstanding partner of Save the Children, having developed the popular "Classic" line of ties using original children's artwork since 1998. The revenue from tie sales has provided critical funding for Save the Children since 1992. " Randa Accessories is proud of the collaborative effort between our neckwear division and Save the Children on the development, launch and success of this new collection. This rewarding project puts a new meaning to the wearing of a power tie," said David J. Katz, Randa Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Both the new World Collection and the Classic Collection lines of ties can be purchased on Save the Children's website at http://www.savethechildren.org/shop.
