DODGEVILLE, Wis., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- With gloomy forecasts from weather to financial, many turn to fashion for a rosier outlook.  In fact, color-trend forecasts predict either bright or calming hues will be colors of choice this spring for those looking to cheer up or calm down.  Lands' End is introducing rainwear collections in a variety of colors and prints sure to help weather storms ahead.

"This season, more than ever before, we knew women would want mood-enhancing colors and prints," said Suzanne Bryant, vice president Lands' End design.  "The new rainwear collection from Lands' End offers a combination of style, performance and, best of all, a variety of color choices from cheerful to calming."

Bryant suggests giving spring wardrobes a boost with the following rainwear standouts.

Cheerful Choices - Bright colors are a staple in spring wardrobes every year.  However, with gloomy economic forecasts, color watchers believe vibrant colors will be on the radar this season.

-Oh Yell-Oh - It's not surprising that a shade of yellow would be the 2009 color of the year according to color forecasters.  This happy hue can be found in raincoats and boots from Lands' End.  Bryant recommends adding a little dose of sunshine to spring wardrobes with the Women's Rain Boots in Goldenrod.  Not only will the 100% waterproof boots keep feet dry, they may also offer up a good reason to play in puddles.

-Pick-Me-Up Poppies - Spring blossoms bring a sense of renewed hope. Bryant believes one look at the cheerful poppy print featured on rainwear and accessories from Lands' End will brighten any rainy day. The SunShower(TM) Coat in Salsa Orange Floral is not only a cheerful addition to any spring wardrobe; it also offers wrinkle resistance and sealed seams along with waterproof properties.

-Optimistically Orange - The color orange is known to instill a sense of optimism. Bryant suggests raincoats in this hopeful hue.  The Women's SunShower(TM) Parka in Salsa Orange will keep clothes dry on rainy days while also adding a silver lining to gloomy rain clouds above.

Calming Colors - While many turn to bright colors for a boost, others pursue calming colors, patterns and styles for a sense of stability.  According to Bryant, neutrals, plaids and traditional silhouettes offer consistency during unpredictable times.

-Nod to Neutrals - Tans, beiges, blacks and navy offer a neutral-pleasing palette.  Bryant suggests taking cover under a neutral-colored travel umbrella.  Whatever the rain wardrobe style, a classic-toned umbrella will compliment.

-Mad for Plaids - It is no wonder the predictability of plaid would add a sense of reassurance for some.  Updated in ivory tones, the Women's Kelly Parka offers technical protection from wind and rain in a very stylish silhouette. Bright Pistachio Plaid and Orange Salsa Plaid can also be found in other raincoats and umbrellas.

-Trenched in Style - Classics never go out of style and the SunShower(TM) Trench Coat is perfect for any weather, but waterproof when needed.  Bryant believes women will continue to look toward classic silhouettes this spring.
