BEAVERTON, Ore., Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- A new survey of 400 people from 44 different countries reveals the TOP 6 reasons why most people do NOT have a regular meditation practice despite knowing the benefits of meditation:

#1 No time
#2 Lack of self-discipline
#3 Not having the "right" place/space to meditate
#4 Falling asleep
#5 Having too many distractions
#6 Not knowing HOW to meditate

One Oregon woman has a goal of helping 100,000 people develop the habit of meditation and has come up with simple solutions to help them overcome these obstacles.

"Most people say they don't have enough time to meditate," says author/speaker/meditation facilitator Lisa Hepner. "Yet the average American waits 42-60 minutes a day! I'm inviting people to convert their waiting time into meditating time through the Don't Wait-Meditate(TM) pledge. If people did this one simple thing, they'd have a regular meditation practice!"

Hepner has also created a 21-day LIVE meditation instruction program to help people overcome the second biggest obstacle: lack of self-discipline. The 21-day meditation circles hold people accountable to meditate for 21 days (until it becomes a habit) in only 15 minutes from the comfort of their own home! Through this 21-day program people learn that meditation isn't about locking themselves away in a room for hours in an uncomfortable position saying a mantra they can't even pronounce, but that meditation is a way of living. Petting the dog or emptying the dishwasher can become opportunities to meditate!
