Home > Beauty & Fashion Articles Miss Great Britain Gets the Blood Racing by Joining the Bone Marrow Register
The clinic itself was inspired by Saving a Stranger, a powerful documentary to be shown on Community Channel Saturday 25th at 7pm and Sunday 26th at 7.30pm. The documentary was produced in a bid to encourage people from black and Asian communities to join the bone marrow register. Preeti said: “I enjoyed supporting the bone marrow clinic today as I think it’s a very worthwhile cause to get involved in. I hope it inspires other people to join the bone marrow register.” Alex Frazier, Press Officer for the Anthony Nolan Trust, said: “It was fantastic that Preeti agreed to join the register and support the clinic. The number of Asian donors on the register is just 3% and we hope that by Preeti joining, this will encourage other people, especially young men, to come forward as potential donors.” James Matheson, Head of PR, Community Channel, said: “We were aware of the need for more Asian donors to join the bone marrow register, and this is why Community Channel decided to make a documentary to alert people to this ongoing issue. We hope the documentary, and Preeti joining the register will ultimately help save lives.” Related Articles
