GFour Productions Announces Spring 2008 Tour of 'Menopause The Musical(R)' in Hot Cities Across U.S. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Forget the U.S. Presidential Elections! The hottest fever sweeping America and its voters right now isn't named McCain, Obama or Hillary. It's called Menopause!! "The Silent Passage" is silent no more. And it's coming soon to a hormonally heated theatre near you. GFour Productions announces the Spring 2008 schedule for the internationally acclaimed blockbuster "Menopause The Musical(R)." Hot Flashes & Sex A lively, liberating, laugh-out-loud, true-to-life comedy, "Menopause" -- dubbed "The Hilarious Celebration of Women and The Change(R)" -- is set in a big-city department store. Beside a lingerie sale, four very different women -- from different backgrounds -- meet by chance, with seemingly nothing in common but a black lace bra. And, hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, chocolate binges, not enough sex, too much sex. And, day-to-day challenges of aging parents, children and partners. Through "Professional Woman," "Soap Star," "Iowa Housewife" and "Earth Mother," the 90-minute musical pokes fun at everything from memory loss and mood swings, to wrinkles and eating binges. Musical Mayhem The four share their ups and downs -- and downs and ups -- through a collection of 25 re-lyricized baby boomer songs from the 60's, 70's and 80's. The disco hit "Stayin' Alive" becomes "Stayin' Awake." Motown favorite "My Guy" becomes "My Thighs." "Puff The Magic Dragon" morphs into the middle-age menopausal exercise anthem "Puff, My God I'm Draggin.'" And, the mighty "In the Jungle" refrain from "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" switches from Savannah to Suburbia with "In the Guest Room or On the Sofa, My Husband Sleeps at Night." Neither Silent Nor Shakespeare The inspiring show encourages a healthy dialogue about aging and women's health. Its message is: "Menopause is a passage, but it should no longer be 'The Silent Passage.'" It's a perfectly normal stage in every woman's life. "It may not be Shakespeare but our focus is different. We want to bring women together and empower them," says Kathi Glist, one of the show's producers. "It resonates with just about any woman over 40. And the younger women laugh just as hard. It's a celebration and a party every night!" From Atlanta and Australia, to Syracuse and South Korea, "Menopause The Musical(R)" has been seen by nearly 10 million people in 12 countries since it debuted in a converted 76-seat Orlando perfume shop in 2001.
