(NewsUSA) - The way the holiday season typically overtakes our schedule, even the most delicious desserts consumed at the dinner table can’t always take the stress out of the season. To fully celebrate the holidays, one can always find peace of mind by following the mindset of “SOS” – Simplify, Organize and Streamline.

“Don’t wait until the season is half over to decorate, plan a party, shop for gifts or send out greetings. Starting early allows you to enjoy the season longer and spend more time creating traditions and memories instead of havoc,” said Molly Gold, Go! Mom founder, time-management expert and host of Fine Living TV Network’s “Time Makeover” series.

To get started, designate an afternoon of family work time when each person does their share of decking the halls – such as shopping online and shipping pre-wrapped gifts or picking out favorite seasonal recipes to prepare and enjoy.

In addition to following SOS, incorporate these helpful holiday tips into your holiday season’s plans:

• Whittle down and personalize your holiday greetings mailing list. Keep it small and intimate.

• Instead of handwriting addresses for holiday greetings, input contact information into your computer, and print out labels. You’ll appreciate this handy list during all occasions and for years to come.

• When entertaining, simplify your menu. Prepare dishes ahead of time if possible. If cooking is not your strong suit, let local caterers or restaurants bring your party table to life. The time and frustration saved will be worth the additional cost.

• Keep your pantry stocked and your guest room tidy. You never know when company’s coming.

• For gift giving, consider drawing names out of a hat for extended family members so you’re buying only one gift instead of several. Some families even give gifts to designated charities instead of to each other.

• Rather than letting thank-you note reminders gather dust, write quick, yet thoughtful, notes as soon as you receive gifts or attend parties.

• Charge your cameras and recorders, so you can capture special holiday moments forever. For other helpful time-management tips, visit http://www.fineliving.com.
