(NewsUSA) - As the days cool off and the leaves change their color, fall seems like a perfect time to change your own look as well.

But while the cooler days and nights may chill you out, the changes in temperature can also cause problems for your hair. Reworking and revitalizing your 'do can be difficult when you're plagued by frizz and static.

For finding that fantastic fall hairdo, celebrity stylist Sarah Potempa offers the following hip hair trends and maintenance tips to keep in mind this season:

* Renew and revitalize. After having been in the sun all summer, the first thing you should do is breathe new life into your locks with a deep conditioner or leave-in treatment, such as Aussie's 3-minute Miracle smoothing treatment or the Infusium 23 (Repair)ologie Leave-in treatment.

Both products restore your hair's manageability and shine, while preventing future damage and smoothing the cuticle layer of your hair. With a healthier texture, your hair will be looking fresh for the fall.

* Pump up the volume. Due to the cooler air, it's best to dry your hair thoroughly before you head outside. Apply a volumizing foam and leave-in conditioner to the root of your hair before you blow-dry it to create lots of volume and movement.

* Keep hair soft and shiny. This year's trendy fall hair will consist of soft and shiny waves with lots of body and movement.

To get the look, separate your hair into 2-by-2 sections, spritz a conditioning shine spray throughout each piece and then use a two-inch curling iron to curl your hair in a spiral motion away from your face.

* Fight the frizz. As cool air comes in and the sweaters come out, your hair can get a lot of static. Apply a drop of no-frizz gel on your brush and comb down the fine hairs along the hairline. Then use a basic toothbrush to tame the flyaways and create a polished look.

* Pony up to style. Once you've gotten your frizz under control, consider working your hair into a perfect ponytail.

Apply hair spray on a flat boar bristle brush, then comb your hair into a smooth ponytail while holding the end of it tight with your free hand. To complete the look, wrap a small section of hair around the ponytail to hide the hair tie.
