(NewsUSA) - Busy mornings leave little time for cooking -; many Americans don't even brew their own coffee at home. Those unwilling to skip their morning meal often find themselves in drive-through lines, grabbing donuts or triple-shot mochas -; sugary foods that make people crash before noon.

Doctors have certainly made the case for breakfast. Studies show that breakfast-eaters better control their weight, consume more nutrients and concentrate better than their meal-skipping counterparts. Grabbing breakfast on the go doesn't have to mean an unhealthy start. There are healthy options in the supermarket, you just have to know where to look. Here are some quick breakfast tips for finding the best options:

- Visit the produce aisle rather than the bakery section. A bran muffin might sound like a healthy choice, but most commercially available muffins contain sugar, fat and white flour -; you might as well eat a cupcake. If you're on the run, consider grabbing a piece of high-fiber fruit, like an apple or a pear, instead. Eat a handful of nuts on the side, and you will receive enough protein to keep you full until lunch.

- Make your own parfaits. Premade parfaits, with their yogurt, granola and fruit-filled layers, might look like nutritional superstars, but some granola and fruit-syrups contain little nutrition and plenty of calories. Instead of picking up a fast-food parfait, keep plain yogurt or healthier soy yogurt and fresh or frozen berries in the office fridge. Mix the two together, and you have a tasty, healthy breakfast.

- Choose cereals wisely. Sugary cereals do the body no good, so skip them. You can't get much healthier than a whole-grain cereal -; rice, oats, barley, wheat, millet and quinoa, along with other whole grains, contain carbohydrates for quick energy, protein for endurance and fiber to keep you feeling full until lunch.

The healthiest cereals, like oatmeal, contain unprocessed whole grains. But if you are too busy to measure, pour and mix, much less pull out pots and pans, look into your grocery store's refrigerated section for a new, healthy, ready-to-eat option. Kozy Shack (http://www.kozyshack.com) has introduced a revolutionary new cereal, "Ready Grains," -; a natural, no-preservatives combination of steel-cut oats, brown rice, barley and rolled oats made with low-fat milk and real fruit. Kozy Shack Ready Grains contain 7 grams of fiber per serving and can be eaten either hot or cold.
