Fans of the jeans will be able to buy their favorite Ruby styles, but made of organic cotton with ozone friendly treatments. Ruby hopes to make organic denim their standard and say they plan to always provide customers with an organic option. They also plan to continue to research and work with new eco-friendly textiles and dyes. Not only will Ruby aficionados wear their organic jeans in good conscience, but according to Eccles-Ogle, "the organic cotton fabric has a softer handle and the washes are cleaner." The styles offered in her spring/summer collection are the slim leg Rennie, the high-waisted wide leg John, the fit and flare Patti, the bootleg Connie, the boyfriend relax fit Reggie, the super zip skinny Grace, the roll-up high-waisted short Pearl, and the high waisted straight leg Vera. The fuschia pink, electric blue, black, and pale yellow washes are all organic. Going organic was an easy choice for Eccles-Ogle. "We are going 'green' because there is not going to be a planet if we don’t," she says. It is a response to her own conscience and not wanting to contribute to the destruction of the earth. Eccles-Ogle launched Ruby two years ago and was an instant success. Ruby has since grown to territories throughout the world, the newest being Norway, Sweden, and Japan. It is also a favorite amongst fashion editors worldwide, as well as celebrities such as Jo Whiley, Lindsay Lohan, and Jennifer Hudson. Previously, Eccles-Ogle designed private label for Ghost, Frost French, Warehouse, Paul Costello and many more. Since its introduction, Ruby denim has become known for being fashion forward, edgy, and quirky. Each season, Eccles-Ogle inserts an inspirational quote into each pair. The newest quote for her organic line echoes Eccles-Ogle’s sentiments best: "Go organic save the planet."
