New Survey Finds That Bright, Clean Teeth are the #1 Factor That Contribute to Consumers Feeling Good About Their Appearance

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Think the clothes make the man and a good hair day is all women want? Think again. A new survey shows that nine out of every ten consumers felt that the single factor that contributed most to their feeling good about their appearance on a daily basis was having bright, clean teeth, outranking skin, hair and clothes.

Of those surveyed, 78% said they are looking for easy ways to help them look and feel good and 86% want to look good but don't want to spend a lot of time or money in the process.

Surprisingly, although the majority of consumers (81%) indicated that a picture-perfect smile plays an important role in making a favorable first impression, more than half of those surveyed (53%) are not doing anything to whiten their teeth for a more picture-perfect appearance.

wardrobe" (45%) Americans chose "teeth whitening to enhance their
smile" (22%) as the element of their appearance they would want to
enhance.

* An important meeting can't be overlooked: Seven in ten Americans agreed
that it's important to have a perfect smile for an important meeting.
