Supermodel Launches New Advanced Radiance Compact Foundation, A New Segment for the Brand

NEW YORK, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Christie Brinkley, whose all-American beauty helped establish CoverGirl as the best-selling make-up in the U.S., is returning to the CoverGirl family to launch new Advanced Radiance Compact Foundation. The Advanced Radiance line is a new segment for CoverGirl. CoverGirl gave Christie her first "big break" in modeling with a contract in 1976, the start of a 20-year partnership, which is believed to have marked the longest-running cosmetics contract of any model in history. Christie recently signed a multi-year contract with CoverGirl to promote the new Advanced Radiance line, her first campaign for the brand in almost 10 years.

"CoverGirl is part of my DNA and I'm thrilled to be back with 'family'," Christie says. "I'm excited to promote a new product developed specifically for women like me, who want flawless coverage combined with the latest science in skincare. I'm looking forward to working with the brand at a time when there is so much innovation."

As beautiful as ever at age 51, Christie is a natural choice for the face of Advanced Radiance makeup. With her healthy Californian face, she embodies CoverGirl's strong heritage in both cosmetics and skincare.

"The Advanced Radiance line is about advanced makeup that delivers beautiful radiance. No one exudes that look quite like Christie," says Anne Martin, Vice President of Global Cosmetics, Procter & Gamble. "Her fresh, flawless skin and carefree smile, which made her a perfect fit with CoverGirl back in the '70s, epitomizes Advanced Radiance. The Compact Foundation couples the brand's strong face heritage -- which Christie has been a big part of -- with superb skincare technology and powerful Olay ingredients."

The Advanced Radiance line, which will be expanded to include additional face offerings, marks the first time CoverGirl has merged with Olay skincare technology in the development of anti-aging makeup. Advanced Radiance Compact Foundation combines beautiful, radiant coverage with Olay's exclusive VitaNiacin complex, the powerful anti-aging technology. Designed for women who expect makeup that is as advanced as their skincare, its patented foundation formula goes beyond hiding fine lines and wrinkles to provide younger-looking skin in less than three weeks. Additionally, Advanced Radiance Compact Foundation provides instantly radiant skin and beautiful, flawless coverage.

Advanced Radiance Age-Defying Compact Foundation will be available in 15 shades to complement a wide range of skin tones. It will be on shelves nationwide in September 2005 with a suggested retail price of $9.99. To help support the launch, a national print and TV campaign featuring Christie Brinkley will kick off beginning in September. Additional Advanced Radiance products will be available in the coming months.

Since its introduction in 1961, CoverGirl has helped launch numerous modeling careers. In addition to Christie Brinkley, it has been linked with many famous faces including Cheryl Tiegs, Tyra Banks, Niki Taylor and Molly Sims. In fact, CoverGirl was one of the first brands to link models' names and faces with a product. Another first for the Brand was consistently signing models who embody both inner and outer beauty, such as current model Queen Latifah.
