Christian Audigier Brings 'The Big Life' to His 2008 Spring and Summer Collection to Bread & Butter Barcelona
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- "God father of Street Chic" Christian Audigier the CEO and genius of the lifestyle brands, Ed Hardy(TM), Christian Audigier(TM), Smet(TM), Crystal Rock(TM), and Paco Chicano(TM) will add a special French twist to the leading international "tradeshow for selected brands" Bread & Butter Barcelona, when he presents his 2008 Spring and Summer Collection "The Big Life." Inspired by the United States liberation of France in 1944, Audigier's latest collection pays homage to the beauty of his French roots and the ingenuity of his adopted American homeland. The influence of French and American style and sensibility upon each other's culture after the war can still be felt today in art, music, and, especially fashion.
For the collection, Audigier has incorporated American Street wear of the late 1970's and early 1980's and fashioned it with the military motif present throughout Europe in the 1940's. The feel, may be post war, but the fashion will be 100% modern. "My collection," states Christian Audigier, "is based on a vision that celebrates the full spectrum and exuberance of today's American lifestyle culture, which includes rap, pop, and rock 'n' roll."
Audigier's much-anticipated show "The Big Life" is produced and directed by renowned creative director Angelique Mas, and Raymond Baltazar. Incorporating the visual appeal of men in uniforms, they've reproduced with a modern flare, the looks of Marlene Dietrich and chanteuse Edith Piaf. The highly stylized looks of hair and make-up are provided by the Cascara Image Group. Under the musical origin of electronic music, mixed by DJ Romain Pelletti, the fashion show bestows twenty minutes of "The Big Life."
