NEW YORK – September 4, 2008 - For the second consecutive year, BRIDES is spearheading a national effort to mobilize the bridal fashion community in joining the fight against breast cancer.  Twenty-one leading designers have each created a wedding dress with a “Something Pink” theme.  This stunning collection will be sold in salons nationwide through July 2009, with a portion of sales benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

The November/December issue of BRIDES, on sale October 14, will include a 23-page fashion portfolio showcasing gowns by Alfred Angelo, Amsale, Anjolique, Anne Barge, Atelier Aimee, Badgley Mischka Bride, Carolina Herrera, Christos, Claire Pettibone, David's Bridal, Eve of Milady, Kenneth Pool, Mon Cheri Bridals, Monique Lhuillier, Mori Lee, Romona Keveza, Reem Acra, Sophia Tolli, Vera Wang, Vineyard Collection and Watters Brides.

The issue will also include feature stories designed to motivate, educate and inspire.  To further the campaign, Brides.com will post images of the collection, exclusive behind the scenes video from the fashion shoot, and supplemental information to promote awareness.

Millie Martini Bratten, editor in chief of BRIDES commented, “While working on this initiative, we have received emails and letters from women across the country.  Many share the desire to affirm their love and futures even while facing adversity and it’s their stories that drive our dedication to this campaign.  We are supremely grateful to the designers who share this commitment and to the brides across the country who will wear these gorgeous gowns on their wedding days, when all eyes are looking brightly toward the future.”

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) is a non profit organization founded in 1993, dedicated to solely supporting outstanding clinical and genetic research on breast cancer.  For more information on BCRF, please visit http://www.bcrfcure.org.
