NAO never accept ordinary(TM) Spokeswoman Jeanie Mai Offers Brides Color and Application Tips for the Big Day

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Today's wedding celebrations often mix typical tradition with timely trends. A bride's look should do the same, reflecting the uniqueness of her personality, while incorporating a soft, elegant look that will stand the test of time.

All of this sounds a little tricky, but Hollywood make-up artist Jeannie Mai offers effortless tips for a timeless look that still says special occasion.

"Nobody wants to appear ordinary on their own wedding day," says Mai. "But don't be too experimental. You can always do that for a night on the town, but not for a day that ultimately results in a 10" x 12" photo hanging in your house for a lifetime."

Mai's advice for a subtle form of individuality includes:

* Create definition. For a slimming and chiseled effect, contour powder is a secret weapon used by professional makeup artists. It adds shape to the cheekbone and creates a slimming effect when brushed sparingly under cheekbones, along the sides of the nose and under the chin.

* Add a touch of glitter with NAO Loose Body Glitter. "Lightly sprinkled into styled hair and set with hairspray, or a little mixed into lip gloss is enough to do the trick, making an impression without overdoing it," says Mai.

* Match your eyes to the mood of the day. "Smoky, dark eyes and nude glossed lips make the perfect face for an evening under the stars, and for a sunny daytime affair, brighter eyelids are the perfect accent to a big smile."

* NAO eye colors are professional-grade, so they glide on and blend easily, and the hues retain their intensity longer. "There is no grander entrance than when a bride walks down the aisle," explains Mai. "The look in her eyes speaks volumes, and it simply has to be perfect."

* One look that will last and should not be mistaken for a trend is the glowing, dewy finish reflected in today's magazines. "Gone are the days of dry, matte, powder-finished skin, which actually produces a heavy white reflection in photos," adds Mai.

* To achieve this flawless effect on the face, brides should start with a concealer that is a touch more opaque than her normal choice, so it resists smudging throughout the day. For the arms, and legs and body, mix NAO Mineral Pigment Trace with body lotion and apply it all over for a consistent glow.

"The most important thing to remember is that every woman's best feature is her own personality," said Mai. "A bride needs to be comfortable with her choices so that she can joyfully and effortlessly spend the day as the slightly more glamorous version of herself."
