#1 Digital Destination for Girls Launches 1st Real Celebrity Page-Streams Hits from Avril's New Album, 'The Best Damn Thing'

Millions of Online Fans to Hold Virtual Listening Parties and Hang Virtual Avril Posters in their Stardoll Suites

LOS ANGELES and STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Stardoll, the world's largest online entertainment destination for girls aged 10-17 focused on fun, fashion and friends, today announced that punk-pop sensation Avril Lavigne has launched the site's first "Real Celebrity" page: http://www.stardoll.com/en/avrillavigne. Avril's management company, Nettwerk Management, of the pioneering Canadian firm Nettwerk Music Group, and Stardoll have launched this new interactive feature together.

Stardoll's 5.5 million unique monthly visitors and more than 8 million registered members from across the globe now have the opportunity to discover Avril Lavigne music on the site, including a playlist of streaming songs and video from her just-released album "The Best Damn Thing." Fans can listen to her music privately or can hold Avril "Listening Parties," where they gather together in a virtual room to chat and enjoy her newest tunes. Soon, when fans visit the Avril page, they'll be greeted by a recording of her voice welcoming them to the site; and, if they log in at the right time, they could have the opportunity to participate in a live online chat with her.

Starting today, fans can access an up-to-date concert tour schedule, promotional photos and a digital storefront where Stardoll members can purchase actual CDs and DVDs and a variety of virtual merchandise, including: Avril Lavigne-branded posters; hoodies; T-shirts; pins; tank tops, caps and bags. Some of the "virtualwear" available will be personally designed by Avril herself. In addition, Avril will participate in the Stardoll sweepstakes by offering as a prize to at least one lucky Stardoll member the chance to attend an upcoming concert and meet her in person.

"Stardoll is extremely pleased to welcome Avril Lavigne to our online community, where we know she'll connect with her already strong and enthusiastic fan base," said Stardoll Executive Vice President and General Manager Matt Palmer. "Nettwerk has built an enduring reputation for adopting inventive and forward-thinking digital strategies, making them the perfect partner for Stardoll as we launch this new platform."

"Nettwerk is very excited to establish a presence for Avril on Stardoll with the recent release of her newest album," said Nettwerk Music Group Founder and CEO Terry McBride. "The millions of dedicated members of Stardoll's community are exactly who we want to discover and enjoy 'The Best Damn Thing.'"

Stardoll's new digital music platform enhances the existing ways that the community enjoys the site:

-- They create their own "MeDolls," which they design in their own
likenesses by choosing from a variety of virtual chins, eyes brows,
skin tones, hair styles, lips, faces, eye colors and facial shapes;

-- They accessorizes those avatars with a number of virtual Stardoll
brands tailored to girls with different fashion interests -- from the
"Fallen Angel" line of Goth styles to the "Pretty in Pink" line of 80s
fashions;

-- They furnish their own virtual suites with pets, furniture and posters
by shopping with Stardollars -- the site's currency;

-- They craft well thought out promotional campaigns to become the next
Stardoll Magazine cover girl by broadcasting messages to the entire
site and petitioning the community for their vote. Generally, when the
cover girl is announced the next time she visits her virtual suite
she'll have dozens of virtual gifts from members across the world
congratulating her. (Interestingly, one of the most popular gifts is a
virtual Dutch porcelain pig.)

One of the few places on the Internet designed specifically with girls' interests in mind, Stardoll began as the hobby of Scandinavian-born Liisa, a retired factory worker in her late 50s with a lifelong aspiration to become a famous fashion designer. She taught herself basic design programs on her computer and shared her fashion creations with a few friends. With the help of her son, she then posted those fashions on the Internet for others to see, and soon Stardoll grew into a passionate online community of millions of teens and tweens from more than 200 countries across the globe.
